Course Assignments/Projects

Project 1: MPEG-2 Video Codec for Matlab for Video Communication over Direct Communication Line. The report for the project can be downloaded from here. The Matlab source code is a part of the report. I have uploaded all the project files in zipped format at http://multimedia.ece.uic.edu/~wahmad/ece434/ . You can download the movie (carphone.qcif) from http://www.acticom.info/1625.html. During the process of MPEG-2 codec implementation in Matlab Berkeley MPEG tools web site proved very useful to me.

 

Caution: Those who blindly copy the solutions available here won’t learn anything. The purpose of uploading solutions here is first to help out students who are facing some problem in doing the project and second to make instructors think of changing projects from term to term ;-).
