Currently we are working on domain decomposition of protein sequences to exploit data parallelism for multiprocessors. This novel technique has allowed us to exploit data parallelism in number of computationally intensive biology problems. The introduction of these techniques to computational biology problems has found extensive applications in phylogeny, multiple sequence alignment and advanced DNA sequencing techniques such as pyrosequencing.
